  • Base color map

    One of the texture maps which indicates the appearance of the surface. It does not have unevenness or reflection information.

  • Bed length

    Needle bed length of knitting machine.

  • Bind off

    A knitting method in which the stitches are reduced horizontally by repeating knit and stitch move with 1 or2stitches.

  • Blister jacquard

    A jacquard pattern with partial unevenness (blister, bulging)

  • Blousing

    To give an item a slight ballooned effect on the waist part. In 3D Item menu, it can be achieved by specifying the hem position.

  • Body point

    Points registered on 3D bodies provided in the SDS-ONE APEX series. These points are used as references for part layout. General avatars such as imported obj files don’t have these points.

  • Boucle/Loop yarn

    Boucle yarn has loops of irregular sizes created by entangling one thick yarn with the thin core yarn.

  • Buffer arm

    A part that tensions the yarn from the yarn feed device to the carrier.

  • Bump map

    A gray-scale image of a height map. Areas darker than 50% gray look hollow, while areas lighter than 50% gray look raised.

  • Butt

    Protruding parts on needles, movable sinkers, etc. This part and the cam act to move the needle and movable sinker.

  • C knitting

    A knitting method used for partially open parts such as V-neck. Used in contrast to tube knitting.

  • Cable pattern

    A twisted pattern made by crossing loops like a rope.

  • Calculate pitch

    A function used when the specific numerical value is not known when inputting the pitch in grading work.

    There are various pitch calculation methods, such as [Parallel line], which calculates the pitch so that the lines are parallel, and [Perimeter Match], which calculates the pitch that has the same dimensions as the base line.

  • Calibration

    To adjust the colors on each device; display, output and input. According to the calibration result, the system takes the color space of each device, device variations, color gradation into consideration. So that the colors stay consistent through the process.   • CAM

  • Cam

    Activates a needle, movable sinker, loop presser, etc.

  • CAM point

    A point that specifies the conditions for cutting.

    (e.g.) [Start Point], which is the starting point of cutting. [No-cut line], which prevents cutting of the specified line.

    The path through which the needle on the back of the carriage passes.

  • Cardigan

    Rib knitting that alternately knits knit and tuck. Knitting alternately on one side is called half cardigan, and knitting alternately on both sides is called full cardigan.
