  • Wide gauge

A wide range of gauge textures can be knitted by supporting both knitting types of all needle and half gauge.

  • Wide rib

Rib knitting with the front and back stitches continuous in the horizontal direction. (e.g.) 4×4 ribs, 6×2 ribs, etc.

  • Widening

Knitting to increase the knitting width.

  • Width of sleeve top

Number of flat sleeve cap width.

  • Woolen yarn

Yarn made by spinning short fibers of animal hair. The fibers are not carded, so the direction and thickness of the fibers are not regular. It has high heat retention properties and is easily raised. Related word: Worsted yarn

  • Worsted yarn

Yarn made by combing animal hair fibers to remove the short fibers and aligning only the long fibers in one direction. It makes a shiny, smooth, and firm yarn. Related word: Woolen yarn

  • Yarn angle control arm

A DSCS mounting device that adjusts the amount of contact between the yarn and the encoder.

  • Yarn breakage

One of the errors occurred during knitting. It is detected by the tension equipment, side tension, and the yarn winding detection device of the DSCS yarn feed roller.

  • Yarn carrier

    Carrier.

  • Yarn carrier adjustment

Adjust the position to stop carrier.

  • Yarn Carrier Change

Specification of the option line R3. When changing the yarn (carrier) in the middle of the pattern, specify the range of each yarn (carrier).

  • Yarn color chart/Shade card/

A sample book of the color variations of actual yarns

  • Yarn count

A unit of yarn thickness calculated by a certain formula of yarn length and weight. The larger the number, the finer the yarn; the smaller the number, the thicker the yarn.

  • Yarn density

The density of a woven fabric. A woven fabric has a warp density and a weft density.

  • Yarn ends

The number of yarns knitted together.

  • Yarn error

One of the errors occurred during knitting with i-DSCS/DSCS. Error occurred when the loop length error between the theoretical value and the measured value exceeds the set value.

  • Yarn feed device

A device for supplying the yarn necessary for knitting and keeping the yarn tension constant.

  • Yarn feed roller

A device for reducing the resistance when supplying yarn to the yarn feeder.

  • Yarn feeder

A part of the carrier that guides the knitting yarn to be close to the needle bed gap.

  • Yarn fixing device

A device that holds yarn for scanning. The yarn is set with natural tense.
