  • Vector data

    An image in which the position of drawing points are indicated numerically and the software analyzes and shows the distance between the points. Can be freely scaled as it is drawn by points. Related word: Raster data

  • vif

    A file format for the vie point. It can be loaded/saved in the View point menu.

  • Virtual

    Things that look exactly like reality.

  • Virtual knit

    Knitted fabric is simulated using connection information between loops created by KnitPaint software.

  • Virtual sample

    Sample images created by the SDS-ONE APEX series that look exactly like real samples.

  • Visual shaping

    A function that allows you to check the settings such as narrowing and widening with animation. Used in contrast to manual shaping.

  • Waffle

    Knit alternately rib knitting and single jersey knitting in the direction of the course. Unevenness like a waffle.

  • Wale

    Horizontal direction (X direction) of the knitted fabric.

  • Warm up training

    A preparatory operation without using a carrier. Oil spreads to each part and smoothens the movement of each part of the machine.

  • Warp number

    The number of warp yarn. The number of needles of jacquard.

  • Washer finish/Washed-out finish

    A processing technique that adds a natural wrinkled texture to fabrics, as if they have been washed.

  • Waste knitting

    Knitted fabrics other than products. Usually separated when the draw thread is pulled out.

  • Weaving diagram/Weaving graph

    Design image data for weaving. Design can be made by coloring each square of the graph.

  • Weaving draft

    A specification which includes Liftplan, Threading and Denting.

  • Weft number

    The number of weft yarn.

  • Welt turn

    Knitted fabric that folds back to form a double layer, or its knitting.

  • WG pattern

    Pattern for WHOLEGARMENT knitting machine.

  • Whole image/repeated image

    A pattern made by repeating a base pattern.

  • WHOLEGARMENT

    Knitwear knitted on a WHOLEGARMENT flat knitting machine developed by SHIMA SEIKI. There are no seams because the whole garment is knitted entirely together.
