  • Outside widening

Knit with “in” of the direction of travel to increase the knitting width.

  • Overlapped loops

Holding multiple loops on the needle.

  • P-CAM output

Output marking data (.mrk) as cutting data (.cam).

Output is performed according to the P-CAM output menu (notch cutting method, drill settings, etc.).

  • Package

A collection of basic knitting patterns in a minimal configuration. Used to create a developed pattern by inserting it into a compressed pattern.

  • Package base pattern

A component of basic knitting patterns in a minimal configuration. Used to create a developed pattern by converting the compressed pattern.

  • Package development

Process to create the pattern for auto process by converting the compressed pattern using the package basic pattern.

  • Package registration

Saving package base pattern in a directory (folder).

  • PANTONE

The name of Pantone’s color inks for color printing. Designate color numbers based on color books.

  • Parachute

There is no distinction between the armholes of the body and sleeves, and the shoulders are shaped by dispersing the narrowing move. (centripetal pattern, yoke pattern)

  • Part boundary color??

Dedicated color for distinguishing adjacent knitting parts (irrelevant to knitting)

  • Part density

    The density of each stripe.

  • Part information

A general term for the four pieces of information input for the pattern: [Item No.], [Size], [Part Name], and [Fabric Type].

  • Passing cable

Cable with 4 or more stitches drawn with color no. 4, 5 or color no. 14, 15 is processed in multiple courses.

  • Pattern

Shaping on the data drawn with the pattern line. (In PGM software, the shaping on the data is basically called “pattern,” and the shaping with substance such as paper is called “paper pattern.”)

  • Pattern habit/Regular pattern

When 1 repeat size of a fabric is small, the feature of the fabric is repeated while the fabric is developed into a big image of fabric. A regular pattern may be seen as stripe.

  • Pattern line

A line that corresponds to the outline of the part.

Lines drawn with this line type are cut by a cutting machine. In addition, it is necessary to form a figure (closed figure) in which the start and end points of the lines are always the same, and the closed figure drawn with pattern lines is called “pattern.”

  • Pattern Position Remain

Specification of the option line L4. A command to keep the needle number developed by the [pattern position] command from shifting even when racking is performed.

  • pel

A file format for pattern layout. The part information (The position of the right front body, right sleeve, etc.) is written.

  • Physical property

The physical property of an object. In 3D, it indicates the characteristics of weight, bending, elasticity, etc.

  • Pick up stitch

Stitch created by knitting with empty needle.
