  • Hair raising

    A process to increase the thickness of a woven/knitted fabric by scraping fibers from the surface of the fabric with needles. The texture becomes softer and the heat retention increases.

  • Half cardigan

    Rib knitting that alternately knits knit and tuck. Knitting alternately on one side is called half cardigan, and knitting alternately on both sides is called full cardigan.

  • Half gauge

    Knitting with one needle skipping. Coarse low gauge knitting is possible. Used in contrast to all needle.

  • Half Milan

    Half Milan. Double jersey and front tubular or back tubular are repeated.

  • Heddle

    A device on a weaving machine that opens the warp yarns upward and downward so that the shuttle of the weft yarns can through.

  • Heel/overcut

    The amount of cut at which point the knife goes up/down.

    The amount of cutting can be adjusted with a cutting machine, and this setting is used for the purpose of preventing uncut parts.


    (e.g.) If the heel/overcut at the starting point is 3mm, cutting starts 3mm before the pattern, and finishes 3mm over.

  • Herringbone

    A pattern consisting of aright twill and left twill.

  • High gauge

    12 or finer gauge.

  • Hook

    The part that hooks the yarn.

  • Hound tooth check

    A pattern made of small broken or jagged checks.

  • Hyper simulation

    An option for speed up 3D simulation in the SDS-ONE APEX series. It uses an extension graphic board for simulation.
