  • Melange

    A type of yarn made by mixing two or more colors. Dye bundled material fibers to get irregular coloring.

  • Mesh

    Wire-shaped object to set area for putting material images. By changing the mesh shape, the material image can be distorted.

  • Mesh pattern

    A move pattern having holes by moving loops.

  • Metalness map

    One of the texture maps which indicates the reflection rate of metal. When its value is higher, the more metaless is seen, when its value is lower, the less metalness is seen.

  • Mini tension disk

    Accessories for side tension devices. A part that adjusts the yarn route.

  • Miss

    Knitting where needles are not selected and only yarn is supplied.

  • Mix color

    Mix multiple colors of yarn to make a specific area of pattern.

  • Moire

    A stripe pattern that is visually generated when multiple repeated patterns are superimposed due to the displacement of the periodicity.

  • Mondrian

    A geometric pattern based on rectangles divided by vertical and horizontal straight lines. Red, blue, yellow, and black straight lines are often used on a white background.

  • Morphing

    To change an object into a different shape.

  • Movable sinker

    A sinker that moves up and down. When knitting a three-dimensional pattern, hold down the rising knitted fabric.

  • Move, cable separation

    Process for changing difficult-to-knit stitch move and cross cable to easy-to-knit knitting.

  • MRK

    Extension of marking data used in PGM software. Information such as pattern layout is saved, and it is possible to cut by reading data in this format with SHIMA SEIKI’s cutting machine.

  • mtl

    A file format in which the material information of a 3D model is written.

  • Multi count

    A yarn that multiple yarn counts are combined in it.

  • Narrowing

    Knitting to reduce the knitting width.

  • Neckline

    Pattern line around the neck.

  • Needle

    One of the errors occurred during knitting. An error that informs you that the needle is broken. When knitting in an error state, [Needle breakage error] is detected.

  • Needle bed

    Place where needles and sinkers are equipped.

  • Needle bed gap

    The gap between the front and back needle beds.
